Happy Fall Ya'll

Wow! Almost 50 entries in my giveaway already. Thanks to everyone who visited. It seems the majority so far enjoy the reds and oranges of fall.

We made a trip to the local orchard today and picked a few apples. Our new home is about 5 minutes away from Millstone Creek Orchards. I just love going there. The owners are so friendly and the fruit is the best! It really put me in an autumnal mood as they had a nice display of pumpkins out front. The apple cider slushies they serve are my husband's favorite.

I will leave you with one of my favorite fall poems. :o)

October's Party
October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came —
The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples,
And leaves of every name.
The Sunshine spread a carpet,
And everything was grand,
Miss Weather led the dancing,
Professor Wind the band.
The Chestnuts came in yellow,
The Oaks in crimson dressed;
The lovely Misses Maple
In scarlet looked their best;
All balanced to their partners,
And gaily fluttered by;
The sight was like a rainbow
New fallen from the sky.
Then, in the rustic hollow,
At hide-and-seek they played,
The party closed at sundown,
And everybody stayed.
Professor Wind played louder;
They flew along the ground;
And then the party ended
In jolly “hands around.”

Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog Myra!
I love the poem you posted. Interestingly enough that's the second time I've seen it this weekend. I think I'll share it with my daycare children.
