Whirl Into Winter Giveaway

The Winner is Simple Stitches! Congratulations!

It's time for the Whirl Into Winter Quilter's Blog Giveaway!

I am offering a mixed bag of goodies from my sewing room. My giveaway package includes:

-A pair of cute Mary Englebreit teapot buttons
-A large seam ripper (we all need plenty of these)

-An Origami Crane Wallhanging pattern
-A Perfect Pouch with a sewing theme made by me :o)
-And 1/2 yard of the Alexander Henry Panda fabric you see in the upper left and lower right corner of the picture.

Since the new year is all about new beginnings, I would like to hear one new thing you plan to make (quilty, crafty, or stitchy) this year. I have so many new things I plan to make, I hardly know where to begin. Since we have moved to a new house, I plan to make a new quilt for my bed in brown and turquoise. It is a queen size so it will probably take me all year but that is one BIG thing I plan to make.

To be entered in my giveaway:
Leave a comment on this post between January 1st and January 15th telling me about your one new thing. :o) If you do not have a blog, please make sure you leave an email address so I will have a way to contact you if you are the winner. I will draw a name no later than 8:00 pm EST on January 16th.

Happy New Year Everyone! Let the fun begin!

Happy New Year! Isn't this a fun giveaway? :0) I've been collecting the patterns for a mystery quilt and just got the last one New Year's Eve. That's going to be the new project, of course I'll still be working on the ufo's. myzbarb@yahoo.com

Happy Quilty 2009! This year I want to make pincushions, lots and lots of pincushions. I'll probably eventually have to have my own giveaway when I have enough... and hopefully I can make a quilt that I actually keep instead of giving away. Does anybody else do that?

Barb said...

How fun to be in a new home...and to start a new year off. Hopefully, you will post the quilt you will make for your bed.

I purchased a wall hanging kit from Connecting Threads and I believe that is what I want to do first off (not that any of my UFO's need to get done???)

Thanks for your giveaway...

Happy New Year!!

I will definitely be making 2 quilts for our house this month. One will be a NY Giants quilt and the other will be a whole quilt panel of jungle animals.

After that, I go into baby quilt mode. I want to build up a collection of baby quilts for any possible upcoming showers.

Thanks for the chance to win. I plan to make a Dear Jane quilt -- I'm halfway through the center blocks already.

My husband gave me a quilt kit for Christmas, so I guess that will be my new project for the new year (as soon as I finish a couple of UFO's).

Llyn said...

(I seem to be following SUSAN around all over blogland! No, I'm not stalking you! LOL!)

I have been collecting scraps to make simple quilt for my bed. It's been slow going, because I only want a maximum of 5-6 squares of the same fabric and I have aa queen size bed. I think I have enough now, so that will be my new project!!

craftydiane said...

I found a really neat hand sewn quilt pattern called a Depression quilt because you use up every scrap of fabric you have. I plan to start on it as soon as I finish hand quilting the quilt I am making for my brother.
May God richly bless you this New Year,

On Jan 24th, I will be starting my first every Mystery quilt. Being a control freak, this is outside my comfort zone. One of my goals for the new year was to expand my quilting by trying a new technique or different patterns. I always seem to go back to the old standby, the 54/40 block, so this is a major step for me.

Lydia said...

I acquired a pretty piece of prequilted fabric, and I plan to use it to make a nice bag to pack my clothes, toiletries and meds in for overnighters and retreats. I'm going to come up with a "pattern" on my own, so it's going to require some thought. Lydia (thepoch [at] aol [dot] com)
