I'm still here......

....but I am moving! We just bought a new house and I have been busy with paperwork and cleaning and packing. Unfortunately blogging had to take a back seat to this flurry of activity (and exhaustion). We hope to close on the house in a couple of weeks and be moved in within a month.

I hope to be back blogging soon. I miss you all!

Spring Inchie Swap

I hosted a spring inchie swap on the yahoo group Fabric In Altered Art. Here is a set of the inchies. I just think they are the cutest little things! Flowers and fairies and chicks and butterflys - oh my!
Just when I think we are really going to see spring here it gets cold again. Friday it was 80 degrees, today 70 degrees, and tomorrow? 50 degrees! Oh well, I can look at my inchies and dream of spring.
I hope everyone is having a good weekend. :o)

Not much happening...

...in the sewing room. I think I either have a cold or allergies. My head has made me feel as if I am in a fog for the past couple of day and I can't seem to shake it. It doesn't help that I haven't been sleeping well either. UGH!
I did get this bright and happy postcard from Jane for the Big Bird's Birthday swap. The feather has many layers of cotton and glittery organza. Very nice interpretation of the theme and I love the bright yellow with the blue background.

More sewing

I made two more Wonder Wallets last night. This time to match my Sassy Bag. I am on a coordinating roll! LOL

Why make two you ask? Weelllllll, I am coming up on my 100th post (this is the 95th I believe) and I think it might be about time for a giveaway.

Stay tuned. :o)

Some Sewing

I made a Wonder Wallet to match my purse! Instead of using a button I used a snap and used my Crop A Dile to attach it. The green of the snap doesn't exactly match the green in the fabric but it is much closer than it appears in this scan.

I also finished up the last item I was making for my Goodie Bag Challenge with the Fabric In Altered Art Group. I hope to get those in the mail to my partner on Monday and I should be able to share pictures with you in a week or so.

More pretty mail

Here is the ATC I received from Kate. She was having a drawing on her blog for some extras she had made and I was lucky enough to have my name pulled from the hat! Do you see the cute little purple face? She has been including these in several of her recent pieces and I just love them. Thanks Kate
Kate used this card she made to enclose the ATC. It is just as pretty as the ATC. So creative.

Here are the fabrics I selected for my next Miranda Day Bag. They arrrived today from Desperate Quilters. My first experience ordering from this company was with the Full Moon Forest fabrics I used for my Sassy Bag. The service was so good I went back to them for a second order. I have had mixed experiences ordering on the web and was very pleased with Desperate Quilters. Rose has taken the time to write a little note on each of my invoices and included a tea bag in each of my orders. No affiliation, just a satisfied customer. Oh, the fabrics are from the Flutterby line by Tula Pink for Moda.
I am heading to the LQS today as they are having a big sale and I need some bobbins for my machine. I hope to manage to sew a bit later today.
Have a great weekend!

Feeling Sassy

I am just having too much fun with these bag patterns! This one is the Sassy Bag also from Lazy Girl Designs. It was very quick and easy to make.

While it isn't large enough for MY everyday use it is a great bag to use for a trip to the mall or when you will be walking around a lot and don't need to take the kitchen sink with you. It has two pockets inside and a large pocket across the back.

The fabrics I used are from Moda's Full Moon Forest line by Tula Pink. Did I mention before that I love her designs? :o)

I managed to center the owl perfectly on the front flap. I couldn't find any suitable "moon" buttons so I used these "sun" ones instead. I think they look pretty good with the browns in the fabric.

This was my final Thing A Day for the month of March. I did quite well on this challenge to myself and only missed doing
something creative two days out of thirty one.

My sewing time is probably going to be scarce for a while. We are looking for a new house and trying to get this one ready to sell. Not a lot of fun but something that has to be done.
