Almost Ready

Happy Halloween
My dyed black 28 ct evenweave
DMC floss
Okay, I think I am done with the Halloween stitching and ready to move on to Christmas. :o) This was a freebie from this blog http://lunedautomne.over-blog.com/. It appears that she has closed the blog and is no longer offering her free design. I am so glad I saved it when I came across it last year as it is such a cute design. This is a simple pillow finish. I was going to trim it in orange ric rac and then this crazy stuff caught my eye. It was a booger to sew but I really like the wild and crazy effect.

***gasp*** Freakin' adorable!

That awesome whatever-you-call-it-stuff makes this piece extraordinary! Well done, Myra!

I've never seen that pattern before, Myra--I just laugh at those broomsticks with arms...so charming! Great job on the finishing and that "stuff" around the pillow really makes the design pop. On to Christmas stitching--yay!!!!

What a wonderful finish--I have that patter too, incidentally! I think I also got it from Gen's blog, but now it is available as a freebie on the Stitch-a-long that she runs, on a forum called the HalloSAL. It's a year-long thing where you unofficially craft/stitch an ornament each month for Halloween. I'm a sort of honorary member, because I didn't join until almost the end, and I haven't kept up properly...BUT!

Gen will be running it again this year (It basically starts Nov. 1st), and this year there is an awesome feature--you can choose to do your SAL as an EXCLUSIVE BAND SAMPLER DESIGNED BY GEN! Can you tell I am excited?

You can see the announcement and sampler here:

And more details/rules here:

Ideally, you are supposed to participate and say hello at least a bit, which I definitely have not done enough, but they are all a great bunch of very kind ladies and will not be unforgiving if you cannot live up to it perfectly. They are very kind and flexible! :D

Great finish Myra !
I am the designer of this chart, I closed the freebies blog because of some abuses.
Maybe one day I'll offer the "old" free charts again, but by now, the wound is too fresh...
Have a nice day! :))
