February Sampler

Finished! A Day Early! Ha! I finished the stitching last night and framed it up this morning. It took me a long time to find this frame. I actually went to Hobby Lobby to have a frame made. Bear in mine this frame has a 6" opening. I chose one of the mid range moldings ($12.oo on the back whatever that means) and they quoted me $52.oo for...just...the...frame! No foamcore, no mounting, no glass, nothing else. Of course they said they were going on sale the next day and they would give me the 50% off but wow. I just can't afford $26.00 for a frame this small.
I kept looking in their photo frames. They have them strewn everywhere, all around the store. I finally found this frame. It actually had a mat with a space for a 3" photo in it. This one was $13.99 on sale for $7.00. Much more within my price range and I think it is just perfect.

Now to dig out my Valentine things and start decorating!

Oh, my Gosh, Myra! This is just TOO PRETTY! I especially love the border--fabulous! I also enjoyed seeing the snow photos; we haven't gotten any here lately, though it has been punishingly cold for the last several days!

Dontcha just love it???? I am glad you shared this framing story b/c I am going to go to Michaels to have them quote me a price for a frame for Mary Dewill dansers.... I have my 50% coupon...Now I can block it/I have foamcore/....So now I am curious how much a approx 18 x 10 will be... PS: This snow/ice has got to go...I am WAY to Southern for this!!! Faye ty for your nice compliments on my blog also!!

Your sampler looks gorgeous!!! The frame really suits it, I love it.

Loved the snow pictures, our dog wouldn't go out in the snow unless we made him. It's really cold here again too, there is snow in some parts of the country but we've been lucky this time. It's seems to be a strange winter everywhere.

Wow, that looks fantastic, Myra! I'm lovin' that frame and just $7??? How cool is that?

I still haven't taken Crabby All Year to the framers. Maybe I'm dreading the $$$!

Just darling....and as a cross stitcher too, I have pretty much gone to designing my projects ( or redesigning purchased charts) to fit into standard frames. It is INSANE how much they charge to frame stitchery. I love to stitch, but do not have the luxury to have them all framed. Good for you to find a bargain!!!

Wonderful finish and I just love the frame, the edge design on it goes great with the sampler.

Lovely finish!
Isn't framing needlework just ridiculously expensive??? Good job nabbing that deal.

Great finish! It looks lovely and don't you just love it when you can find a frame to fit! That's why I learned to frame my own years ago - but sometimes you just have to splurge because it's impossible to find every size you need!

Wow--you are speedy, Myra! The February sampler is so, so pretty. I'm afraid I don't have any Valentine's Day stitching--guess I should try to whip something up before the 14th rolls around!

Love your price for the frame--I am a bargain hunter, too and I know the thrill of finding the perfect thing at a great price.
