Twins?

The tote I have been taking to work with me everyday was starting to look a little soiled and I needed a change so I decided to make me a new one. I know, the colors are a bit odd but I really like them and although it doesn't show so well in the picture, there IS a bit of purple in the orange print. Since, I was already making one I decided to make another at the same time to give away.

Wanna be my twin? LOL If you would like to have this oddly colored tote bag just leave a comment on this post. I would love to hear about your favorite summertime food(s). We had the most delicious fresh corn on the cob last night - I would have to say it is one of my favorites as well as homegrown tomatoes. I will draw a name next Saturday evening and send it on it's way.

Soooo, what are you looking forward to devouring this summer?

What a fabulous bag and in all of my favourite colours - it's not unknown for me to wear a plum coloured top with a russet shrug over it ...

As for my favourite summer foods, it has to be the berries. Strawberries first of all - English or Scottish ones, the ones shipped in from Spain or Holland just don't taste the same. They mark the proper start of summer for me - I've just picked up my first punnet this afternoon. I love them with or without sugar or cream. If I'm being nostalgic, I'll have them with some evaporated milk (Carnation milk).

My favourites are raspberries. I used to stuff myself on them when I stayed in the summer holidays with my gran, who grow them in profusion in her walled garden in Scotland. They were huge, juicy and luscious.

And then as summer gave way to autumn, there were the blackberries, picked on family walks with our dog, who used to pick his own from the brambles and scoff them! These were made into jams and puddings by my mum ...

Right, off to have those strawbs now :o)

Hello Myra,

What a pretty bag! I'd love to enter for the chance to win it.

Your vegetable garden is really looking good!

My favorite food of summer is all of the wonderful fruit. I guess peaches would be my favorite. You know the kind that are so sweet that you need to eat them with a napkin in the other hand? I also love homegrown tomatoes.

Lovely tote! The colours are lovely.

The best thing about summer is all the fruits that are in season. Right now I've got a giant watermelon, a cantaloupe, and a whole bunch of berries waiting for me~

Great bag Myra! I love the summer fruits! I'm not one for apples or the like so watermelon, cherries, blueberries, strawberries... nectarines... I can keep going. OH! And I'm with you. Homegrown tomatoes. Pair that with fresh rye bread and some butter.... MMMMMM! Great summer sandwich. I'm drooling just thinking about it.

Myra I love the tote. I would love to be your twin!

I like all summer fruits except fresh strawberries. Don't know why exactly unless it is because my Mother craved strawberries before I was born? I have a strawberry birth mark on my back.

That bag is fabulous! Of course I'd love to be your twin - especially if that would make me a better finisher!

I don't like to play favorites, I enjoy too much food - but this time of year I love anything fresh from the garden and/or trees and vines - veggies and fruits!

Nice bag Myra. I guess my favorite summer food would be tomatoes right from the garden. Oh, and zuccini bread!!!

Very pretty, Myra--you did a wonderful job on it. I think I need to sign up for some sewing lessons--I'd love to be able to make something like that :)

Love your colorful tote Myra - it's really cute!!! The color combo is great!

My fav fresh from the garden foods? Hmm, all of them! We've had potatoes, squash, sugar snap peas and cucumbers so far. The tomato vines are putting on now too, but they're not quite ready yet. Can't wait for those and the fresh corn! YUM!

Oh...please please please pick me....

I love corn on the cob but I think my fave is blueberries. Muffins. Coffeecake. On cereal. By themselves.

Oh hon, what a gorgeous bag. Would I like to be your twin - ABSOLUTELY!
My favorite summer treat - blueberries and rhubarb! Thank goodness my dad has a garden full of rhubarb. Our cottage has plenty of wild blueberries so most years I have my fill of both!
