I am battling what may be the worst summer cold I have ever had. It started Sunday night and shows no signs of stopping yet. I sound worse than a frog, my left ear is completely stopped up, my throat is sore, and I just generally feel like UGH! Okay, enough whining. Feast your eyes on Mini Ziggy all decked out for the 4th! :o)
Since I have so few stitched items with a patriotic theme, I decided to finally do something with these 3" quilt blocks that have been "curing" for oh, maybe 4 or 5 years. They are stuffed with crushed walnut shells and finished as little pincushions. They look really nice on display but I think they would look better as RAK's to some of my friends, don't you?

Here is a progress pic of WMHB. I have made a little progress in the past month, generally just stitching on this in between the LHN Samplers, exchanges, and those smalls I just have to do now. It has been tucked back into it's bag due to today's arrival of this:
I had said June was my favorite of the Monthly Samplers so far but I think August is about to replace it. I love both of these designs and the colors in the floss...just gorgeous and the type color palette I want to be stitching in this time of year.

Back to the sofa and my box of kleenex for now. I hope you all had a great start to the week!

Oh, Myra, I'm so sorry to hear that you've come down with such a horrid cold...sounds downright miserable. Take extra good care of yourself and eat your chicken noodle soup :)

Love your July display--the little quilt pincushions are so eye-catching. And I love mini-Ziggy's little red hat!

Hope you feel better very soon...sending you a hug :)

Oh, you poor thing! I hope you feel better soon! A summer cold is just the worst!

On the other hand, your pincushion finishes are darling!! I have got to buy some walnut shells because the one I got from Faye that has crushed walnut shells in it just has the best feel to it. You did a great job on them.

Love your progress on WMHB - that is one of my favorite BBD samplers!!!

The LHN monthly is really cute and man, you gotta love those colors!

It is definitely too hot to be sick! Hope you feel better soon!

Your pin cushions are just the cutest. I don't quilt but I think they inspire me to give it the old college try!

Great stitching on your WIP....hope you feel like stitching!

I'm so sorry to hear that you're not feeling. I think that summer colds have just got to be the worst. When you have them in the summer you don't mind getting under the covers and sleeping it off, but in the summer, UGH!

I love your pincushions that you made from those quilt blocks. Now you've given me a great idea to use up some of mine that I made but never finished the quilt, and know that I won't. Best not to waste anything, but make pincushions, right?

Love your progress on your BD piece and I love that monthly sampler!

So sorry to hear you're feeling poorly Myra and my best wishes you're feeling fit and well again soon.
Ziggy looks very cool! Love the little patriotic pincushions, WMHB is progressing well but can understand why 'August' may be replacing it - what gorgeous summery colour threads - hurry up and get well so we can see your progress soon xxx

Oh Myra, I'm so sorry to hear you're sick. I hope you are all better very soon. Wish I could send you a magic cure.

I LOVE your adorable pincushionhs. Aren't they fun to make? I have so many plans - never enough time to do 10% of them though.

And I think the August design from LHN is my fav from the series too - though I haven't stitched any of them yet. Can't wait to see yours stitched!!

Do feel better! Sending get well wishes & hugs!!
