Just look what arrived this week. This is the pincushion I won from Faye's blog giveaway. Isn't it just the sweetest thing??? I love everything about it - the color, the fabric, the button, the stitching - but mostly that it was made by dear Faye. :o) She even sent along a set of pins she made - I love them too! Thank you so much Faye, I will treasure it always.
A couple of weeks ago I made a stop at the local Goodwill and picked up this cutting board and frame. The old grater came from my kitchen. :o) I forgot to take a picture of these before I started working my magic with them. The grater is old and rusted in places so I spray painted it black. I am thinking I'll do a little something else to it (not sure what yet) and it will end up as part of my Halloween display. The cutting board reminded me of the hornbooks you see with needlework displayed on them. It was scratched and dented from use. DH sanded it down for me and I painted it white. I then lightly sanded the edges and applied some black and brown shoe polish. I am thinking it will make a good mount for Notforgotten Farm's "Halloween Queen" if I ever get around to stitching it. :o) I haven't done anything to the frame - I like it just as it is.
That's it for my rambling today. I hope you all have a gr8 weekend and stay cool.
