From Gaudy to Good

I believe I have succeeded in making the gaudiest Halloween ornament ever.   But then, Halloween is all about dressing up - isn't it?  This is "Boo" by the Stitcherhood with DMC 4130 on my dyed 32 count linen.
I finished the stitching on LHN's November sampler and just need to get it ready to pop into the frame.  At first I didn't care for this design but once I started and the colors came together I think it may be one of my favorites from the series.

Does anyone know what those little things just underneath and to the right of the pumpkin are?  Leaves or bugs?

I was tickled pink (pun intended) to have won Pumpkin's Stitch Pink giveaway.  I have been looking for one in my not so local JoAnn's and they do not have them.  I was also very pleasantly surprised that she included a fistful of some gorgeous pink DMC floss and a pretty pink ribbon scarf.  Thank you so much Cathey!
And here is the final picture of my Halloween tree.  Even DH is impressed with how well it turned out with the help of my blogging friends and told me he had been talking about it to his co-workers.  :o)  Thanks once again to all who contributed to making my tree such a huge success!  I don't even want to think about having to pack these treasures away until next year.

I hope you all have a great weekend and

What a fun tree, and the gaudy ornament finish just adds to its charm! The November square is is sooo pretty; I'm glad you changed your mind, because I don't see how you couldn't end up liking it! But just what those little things are, I have no idea. If they were gold and black, they'd be the Asian beetles perched on everything in my neighborhood every fall - yuck!

I don't think your ornament is gaudy at all-I think it looks great :)
Oh, I love the LHN -I haven't made it to my LNS to pick up my latest automatic which includes the LHN monthly :) I love the colors in this one!!
Congrats on your win :)
I plan to keep my Halloween stuff out (with my autumnal stuff as most all of it relates to fall in some way) until Thanksgiving weekend when I start getting ready for Christmas :)
Have a lovely weekend!

I think Boo is great!!! I love the November stitching! Is that a chart that was designed for each month? I will have to look for those charts..

I think the LHN November is my favorite so far, Myra--I love that little squirrel so much--and the white pumpkin, too. Not sure what those little things are near it...

Oh, your tree looks fabulous with so many Halloween ornaments--I'm sure that area will look bare for a while when you put it away. You could always do a Thanksgiving tree :)

It's such a fun ornament and I think Halloween stitches can be gaudy and bright ~ the more the better and purple and orange are meant to be complimentary colours to one another!
As for the mystery bugs/leaves - really not sure but I'm carving the pumpkins later today so if there's anything that looks like that inside them (hopefully not bugs) I'll let you know! xxx

Oh, what a fun post! Your tree looks great--I had a thrill getting to see the one I made there, too! :D

November is just beautiful (and though I'm a November baby I have No Idea what the Mystery Flecks are. :P)

Love your new finish--Not Gaudy!

Happiest of Halloweens to you, my friend! I'm hoping to be able to take a good pic of the wonderful thing you sent to me tomorrow in some good sun and finish up a spot of edging to have something to show for the Holiday myself!

I love your bright ornament, it's adorable :0) Maybe those little specks are the flies and wasps that come out in droves every time it warms up to 60 degrees around here.

The tree has really filled in!!

Boo is adorable Myra! He's "bright" not gaudy. He adds to your tree!
Speaking of the tree, it looks great. When the guys are impressed, we know it's something special :)
The LHN is one of my favorites. Maybe they're leaves at the base of the pumpkin?
Hard to tell....
The pink giveaway is a special treat. I haven't seen them in Joann's here either.

Have a great weekend and a Happy Halloween!

I love your Boo, don't think it looks gaudy at all, in fact I love the colors. Not sure what those are in November, but they are the same colors as the flowers so maybe "floating buds":) Your tree looks great, I would keep it up as long as possible.
