Tulip Pincushion

I just love almost all of the designs in the new Blackbird Designs book.  I want to stitch them all and I want to stitch them now.  :o)  Alas, I had to start somewhere and so I present to you "Tulip Pincushion".

"Tulip Pincushion"
Blackbird Designs "A Stitcher's Journey"
28 ct coffe dyed Monaco - DMC floss
I didn't have the overdyed flosses so I used the DMC conversion.  I really like how subtle the colors are and I managed to find the perfect button in one of my old button jars.

I personalized it by adding my initial over one.
And I just had to add another view in the bright sunshine we are enjoying today.  :o)  I hope you are all enjoying a bit of sunshine and stitches in your neck of the woods today.  I think I am going to stitch another Tulip Pincushion!  LOL

It is raining all day here :( But your lovely pincushion brightens my day-this is another one that looks better stitched than the pic in the book-very nice!

Such beautiful spring colours, the lace trim you've used is so pretty.
We too are experiencing the beginnings of spring. We were out in the garden until 6pm this evening and it felt WONDERFUL!

Beautiful, Myra! I love the dainty colors and your lovely finish.

I'm waiting for my BBD to arrive and have been admiring the beauties on a few blogs....Isn't it fun to find just the right button/trim in your existing treasures?

I hope you are well. "Rosie" is keeping me on my toes (to say the least)

I've been contemplating buying that book, Myra--and I think you've pushed me over the edge. What a darling little pillow. I love the button and lace trim, too. You always find the perfect accents to make your pieces really stand out :)

Sweet pincushion Myra! I love the soft colors. The BBD book is fab. I need to clone myself so I can get all the stitching I want done. :)
