Framing

My husband and I ventured to Hobby Lobby yesterday to find frames for a couple of pieces that have been resting in a drawer for a while.  I really didn't expect to be very successful as these designs aren't standard sizes.
"Where My Heart Blooms"
Blackbird Designs

This frame was $12.50 and was an "almost perfect" fit.   The frame has a "weathered" look which looks great with the aged look of the linen.

"Wash Day"
Carriage House Samplings

This frame was $7.00 and in my opinion suited this piece perfectly.  The size could have been a little smaller but I love the pattern on the moulding.

These are two of my favorite finishes from last year and I am very happy to have them out of the drawer and on my walls.

Myra,

I remember when you posted these finishes! I love the frames you found - perfect matches for the pieces - and, you can't beat the price!

Amazing to get such beautiful frames at such a great price, Myra. Sure wish we had a Hobby Lobby near us if that is any indication of what you can find there...

I love them both and each is perfect for your beautifully stitched pieces. Those little crows in washday are so sweet (or are they blackbirds?)!

Lovely Frames! I agree with you that these are some very nice pieces from you last year. :)

I do hope your back is still mending well--ugh!

Love your box and love also your idea of putting a fabric pincushion inside--keep the other on display--woo-hoo!

Love your summer sachet! I think I used one of those buttons myself the other day-lol! Was that ric-rac difficult to put into the edging? I really want to do something like that, but hesitate.

Ooh, banana pudding! It is gorgeous. :o And so is Faye's gift! You two are definitely on the same wavelength.

Also, what a gorgeous picture of your briwaxed boxes! :o I LOVE the styling with that wonderful fabric backdrop. I've been meaning to ask you what color of Briwax you purchased. I'm hatching a plan to spruce up (and possible redden up) the very dilapidated cabinets of our little rental. :D

I think that both of your frame choices are perfect. I never think to look in the frame section and do it myself. I think I've done one and why I don't think to look at a ready-made, I don't know. But you picked two perfect frames. And what perfect prices!!

How did I miss this post? I love both of these frames. They are just perfect for the samplers. Of course you know I've done the BBD and the Carriage House piece is my "wanta do soon" pile. Beautiful stiching, Myra.
