Red, White, and Blue

Do you have as much trouble coming up with a post title as I do?  I just can't think sometimes and want to get right to the "meat" of my post.

Thank you for all the comments on my "Tale of Me and The Coon".  Wouldn't you know that I haven't seen the darn feral cat since I brought the trap home.  So goes my luck.  :o)

I managed to finish another little ornament for my patriotic tree.  Dear Faye was kind enough to let me borrow this pattern and I couldn't wait to start stitching.
"Happy 4th"
Threadwork Primitives
28 ct tea dyed Monaco/DMC floss
I stitched this little cutie 1 over 1 and finished it using some homespun fabric and a bit of cotton lace.  I just fell in love with this design when I saw it - I love the way the flag looks as if it has movement.  I rarely stitch over one but this was going to be too large for an ornament any other way.  Thanks again Faye for your generosity in letting me borrow this pattern!

It has been raining here off and on for the past 4 days.  I was awakened at 4 this morning by the rain pounding on the windows.  We planted tomatoes and cucumbers this weekend (in the rain) so they should be happily drunk by now.  LOL

I hope you have had a great start to your week!

Such a pretty patriotic stitch, it will look lovely on your tree!
Send your rain my way, we so need it here, we've had a pathetic little sprinkling this morning and 10mins later it had dried up xxxx

Oh, it's so patriotic and pretty, Myra--love the over one, of course :)

We're ready to float away up here with all the rain--just won't stop. In April, we only had 8 days without rain for the entire month. May seems to be no better--blech!

Have a wonderful week :)

That's just adorable! I love patriotic finishes. Glad you didn't get your hand taken off by the coon!

Cute design, and I love your finish!

I'll bet that stupid cat heard all the racket that raccoon was making and skedaddled. Maybe he'll stay gone for a while.

Just love that finish! Maybe that cat has moved on to other places after seeing that raccoon being caught!

We have had rain for days too, my garden plants have double in size since Friday!

So sweet, reminds me of a picnic on the 4th of July, which also happens to be my MIL's birthay. She is a firecracker!! Congrats!

Love your finish Myra!! You always seem to know exactly how to pull a piece together!!
It's pouring rain here as I am writing this - hopefully it will slow down before the boys have to get off the bus!
I have a theory on the cat -- I bet the coon went back in the woods and spread the word to stay clear of your place!! :)

What a cheerful, happy piece! Love it~ I agree, I usually don't have trouble writing the posts, but sometimes I just feel like making all my titles say "duh"... LOL :)

Blog titles are a challenge for me. One I generally do not rise up to meet either. They pretty much rot.

Love your finish. The homespun and the lace complement your beautiful stitching perfectly!

Myra, that is ADORABLE!!! I love your finishing, too. The gingham screams 4th of July and picnics and watermelon--really nice.

You did a great job, Myra! It's darling.
Hard to believe that the "4th" will be here before we know it.
Happy Stitching and Gardening!
