Vacation Over :o(

I am in the final hours of my vacation and I think I need another week!  Isn't that always the case?  I did no sewing, very little stitching, a lot of reading, a lot of resting and basically doing nothing at all.  It was really nice.  We did take a quick trip to Carolina Beach and spent one day on the beach.  It rained the next day so we visited the Aquarium at Fort Fisher and the Civil War Museum and found both very interesting and entertaining.  I really, really missed my furbabies and I think that is one of the reasons we don't go away more often.  I couldn't wait to get back home although we had only been gone 3 days!

Did you see?
Isn't it fabulous!?  I love the house, the little sheep, and the grassy hill with flowers - such a pretty finish to this sampler.  I know a few of you guessed a house for the drawing - give me a day or two to get my act back together and I will draw a name and announce the winner.  Oh, and I guess I will announce what the prize will be too.  :o)    I am almost finished with the tree and all the leaves in part 2 and have only a bit of the alphabet and the birds left to stitch.  I am planning to "change up" the birds a bit - I wonder if you can guess what I will do with them?  ;o)

I hope you all had a great weekend and I am wishing a wonderful week ahead for each of you!

Sounds like you really relaxed this week, Myra...I wish you could have another week or two off, too--you deserve it :)

The final reveal of the mystery sampler is wonderful--I can't wait to see what you do with the birds. Are you maybe reversing their colors? Any way you do it, it will be a spectacular piece!

Can't wait to see what you do with the birds ;) Sounds like your vacation was great fun. A house for part 3 in the mystery sampler was my 2ND guess, ha ha!!

Why does the week of vacation speed by while a week of work drags? I just saw the Mystery Sampler and I love the house and the sheep and I think I'm going to see if I can put a little chicken in mine somewhere. Hope this week goes smoothly for you.

Soundw pretty much like a perfect vacation week! Reading and resting sounds perfect. I haven't been anywhere in about 3 years because of Sammi. She is 17 and doesn't do well without her Momma. If I can bring her then I go.

Myra, thanks so much for what you said on my blog; thanks also for mentioning it here on your own awesome blogspace! :D (You're in the draw with 3 entries.)

I am just so jealous of that home-grown cucumber salad! I learned a "dressing" for grilled corn that I can't get enough of: Cook several chopped cloves of garlic and a bunch of green onion in plenty of olive oil. Then, add .5-1 tsp salt and dissolve. Let it come to room temp (or not) and spoon all over corn as you eat it! Amazing!

I hope you had a wonderful 9 days off. :D Did Ziggy behave while you were gone?

Sounds like you had a very relaxing week!

I am only still working on the border to this one - I started late, but I am loving every stitch! And I was over the moon to see sheep in the final part!! I am sure those birds will be turning to red for you!

Hope you are having a great week!
