Catching Up

I have been so busy the past few days it seems that time is just flying by.  I had a fabulous weekend which started on Friday with this delivery:
I can't wait until I have a bit of uninterrupted time to break this baby out and play!  A big thank you to Amy for hosting the giveaway on her blog and to the AccuQuilt company for donating the GoBaby!  I promise to cherish and keep her and put her to good use.  :o)  I have some plans for the Tumbler die that just might involve some of the new Blackbird Designs Blueberry Crumb Cake line.

Then, bright and early Saturday morning Chris and I headed down to SC for a stitch-in.  We both loved being greeted by this charming sign upon our arrival.

Manning and the ladies we met certainly did not disappoint.  I didn't accomplish very much in the way of stitching but I made lots of new friends and saw all sorts of gorgeous stitching in progress.  This was my first event of this kind and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Since Myra played all day Saturday she had to spend Sunday getting caught up on chores.  :o)  The tomatoes continue to produce and I have cooked tomatoes and frozen sauce for the past 3 nights.  I just can't bear to see these go to waste and they will make great soups and spaghetti sauce this winter.

Now it is back to the work week and boy is it starting out to be a doozy for me.  I hope you all are having a great start to your week.  I have tomorrow afternoon off and am hoping to get in a little sewing and/or stitching time.

Stitching days with friends are the best Myra. It's fun to meet new ones and reconnect with others. What a great day you had!

Congrats on your win. You are so deserving because your sewing talents are beautiful.

Sounds as if you'll have lots of homemade goodies when the winter comes! Your garden has been good to you this year.

Have a good week ahead!

Oh how I've longed to go to a little retreat like that!! Goodness your tomato plants must be working overtime for you to have to spend so much time canning. It will be well worth it this winter though :0)

I hope you enjoy the GO! Baby Myra - I sure do love mine! And LOL that you took a picture of that sign! That sign originally dates back to the 50's (can you tell?!) but last year, a gentleman on his way home from work fell asleep, ran into the original sign & tore it to bits, luckily he wasn't hurt. They had the sign re-made to look exactly like the original. :-) Interesting huh?

Can't wait to see what you sew up with your new toy! I need to go check out the new blueberry line, I haven't heard of it before. Glad you had a fun day on Saturday making new friends and enjoying stitchy goodness! Those preserved tomatoes will be so good this winter, it's ashame we can't somehow preserve them to have fresh tomato sandwiches in the winter too!

Wonderful that you could gather together with all those fellow stitchers...I'm meeting two for an afternoon of stitching on Friday. It's always so much fun!

Oh wow, that is too cool. I have seen these around and am not sure exactly how they work. Let me know how you deal with it.
Congratulations of te finish of your Birds of a Feather sampler. It is truly lovely.
And as always, you inspire me. I have downloaded the pattern for the bird pincushion and it is on my short list of things to make. Thank you.
