Happy Monday!

Hello dear friends!  I hope your start to the week was a pleasant one.  We had a pretty busy weekend cleaning around the yard and house.  It is still HOT here but tomorrow we are supposed to have a bit of a cool down.  We are keeping a close eye on hurricane Irene as we have relatives who live at Carolina Beach.  I pray that it goes on out to sea!

Have you been looking at the new releases from the Baltimore market?  I sure have....especially this one:
Squeeeeee!  Blackbird Designs, Halloween, and a box?!  You know this is a must have for me.  And...I have already been to my local Hobby Lobby and purchased 2 of the boxes.  :o)  I love this box and probably wouldn't have even given it a thought until I saw this.  Wouldn't it be pretty painted in green with red and white smalls tucked inside too?

Seeing the wonderful Halloween designs inspired me to finish up this little cutie this weekend.

This is the piece I finished stitching from Barbara Ana Designs a while back.  I decided to use those big, chunky beads as shown in the model and make myself another ornament for my Halloween tree.

I have been stitching on Penny America but had to stop and stitch up a little winter design (just because I needed a color break) and plan to finish it into a little pillow tonight.  Yes, the autumn and winter designs are starting to "call" to me even though I have a couple of new summer designs that I still want to stitch soon.

That's it for now.  Maybe I'll have another little finish to show you before the end of the week.  :o)

That's the same BBD release that made it to the top of my list! Your Halloween ornament is adorable, I love the beads you used on the bottom tassel.

I'm like you, this weekend I was in the mood to stitch autumn themed items, and then I was shocked when I went outside on Sat and it was over 90. I'm definitely ready for the cooler temperatures of fall, the changing leaves, and pumpkin bread!

Cute Halloween finish! So much fun! I like that BBD release too. I think it's the only one though. I just wish there was a Hobby Lobby nearby. I'm going to have to remember to stock up on my TX trip in May.

Oooo I'm really lovin' that shadow box idea. Would you do the stitcheries as one big piece or little ones that fit in the windows? Great finish on the halloween piece too :0)

I'm not sure about that new BBD yet; although I think I kinda feel the "Long" piece that doesn't fit in the box. However, I'll bet the whole set looks great together and that I will "see the light" when bloggers start showing it off. :)

Love that finish of your ornament; I remember when you stitched that! The beads are a great choice! I am slogging away on my I-thought-I-was-almost-finished-with-this Kindred spirits! All those PS ornies really spoiled me! :D

Love the ornamment! That owl is magnificent! I got my sweaty little hands on the Casting a Spell book - it has so many cool pieces to stitch. Now I need to go snag a box at Hobby Lobby - thanks for that info - you are my favorite enabler - LOL! Happy stitching-

I think I need the BBD Halloween book too! I can't wait to see your finished piece.
Your finish looks great, when are you setting up the Halloween tree?
Have a great week.

Oh, I knew you'd love that new BBD book, Myra. And guess what--we're getting a Hobby Lobby--finally!! It will still be about 30 minutes away, but I've never been in one before so I can't wait until it opens in September.

Your little owl is so cute--can't wait to see him perched on your spooky tree this Halloween :)

I've been stitching fall and winter stuff this week, too--the air is definitely feeling fall-like up here right now. Hope that hurricane avoids the Carolinas!
