Happy Saturday!

Good morning friends!  It is a beautiful fall day here in NC.  The temps dropped considerably overnight, the sun is shining, and a brisk breeze is blowing the leaves to the ground.  Fall has arrived!

I mentioned in my last post that I wasn't feeling well and what I thought was a terrible sinus infection turned out to be a serious tooth infection.  I went to the dentist Thursday when my face and the roof of my mouth started swelling and ended up at the endodontist yesterday.  I am the proud new owner of a root canal and an open incision in the roof of my mouth for drainage.  How's that for gross?  I am not 100% but I do feel much better now that some of the swelling is gone.  Thank you for your get well wishes - I appreciate each and every one of you.

I am not one to sit idle even when I am feeling poorly.  I have been planning to make one of those Tilda dolls by Tone Finnanger for quite some time and finishing the little kit from Carol finally gave me the courage to give it a try.  Here is my Autumn Pixie for your perusal:

I had a lot of fun making this in between my fever and drug induced stupors and am quite happy with the way it turned out.  I have in my mind to make a witch for Halloween but I don't know if I will get her done in time for the holiday.  We shall see.  I am planning to donate her to Pumpkin's Breast Cancer Fund for the auction at Attic Needlework.  I am hoping she will get lots of bids.  :o)

I wish you all a wonderful weekend!

She is a cutie; no one would know you were felling so awful. For all the bad reputation they have, aren't root canals wonderful? Someone would have to have experienced the pain you were in to understand that statement, but, oh, what blessed relief. Glad you found the problem and are on the road to being well!

She is just the cutest! You are some trooper to make that doll with all that detail when you weren't feeling well. I can't even manage to make instant oatmeal when I feel bad! Hope your recovery continues to go well.

Oh Myra, that sounds awful. Glad to hear that you're on the mend.
I love your pixie. She reminds me very much of the pixies my little girl has sat on her chest of drawers. my sister buys them for her, they're by Maileg and cost a fortune! I hope yours sells for a similar price, particularly as it's for such an amazing cause.

"Autumn Pixie" is just beautiful and looks perfect nestled in among the pine branches. I can't imagine how you mustered enough energy to create some so special. When I have a bad cold, my head pounds and my eyes feel like burning coals. I can't stitch a bit!

So glad that you are feeling on the mend!

Oh, what a fun finish, Myra!! You really did an amazing job on her and I know she'll bring a great price at the auction. Can't wait to see your Tilda witch creation...

Do hope your mouth is feeling all better soon--what an awful experience!

Are you serious???? That is SO generous Myra and what a lovely job you did! I'm sure she will bring in lots of bids :o)

I'm sorry to hear you're still not well but at least they found the problem and you should be on the mend. ((((HUGS))))

I hope you recover quickly, sounds like you've been through quite an ordeal. Your doll turned out wonderful! If I had tried to do that while on pain meds, I'm sure her eyes would have been crooked, half her head would be bald, and her dress would look like a bag lady's.

Oh Myra, you poor thing. You must have been just miserable with that and even what you've had to go through to treat it sounds so unpleasant. I hope you're back to 100% soon. What a cute pixie!

Urgh, dental woes make me go all wobbly in the knees. It's my weak spot. I hope you'll be all healed up soon! And your Tilda doll is AMAZING!

Oh poor Myra. It must have hurt so bad. Your doll is just beautiful. I made a doll like that once. She is an angel and she is hanging in my bedroom on the wall. It is nice of you to donate her. Get well soon.

OMG, that tilda doll is completely adorbs! Love it. It will be a wonderful contribution to the auction. So glad you are feeling better but sorry to hear about the dental work. Ouch!

Your pixie is ADORABLE!!! Great job.

I hope you're feeling better! A few years ago I had an abscess that turned into a full blown infection with my face swelling up. They ended up having to pull the tooth when the root canal showed that they were too far gone. It was PAINFUL. Enjoy those pain meds!!

She's absolutely adorable! I'm so impressed that you made her while feeling poorly. I just usually wallow in bed and irritate everyone around me ;D
