"Valentine Sampler"
With thy Needle
|
I'm stitching on 40 count! And actually enjoying it! Go me! Okay, so I know this isn't a big deal for most of you but it is for me. I have at least 3 projects in my abandoned project pile that I started on 40 count linen and just gave up. I'll admit it took me about 30 minutes or so for my eyes to get accustomed to the small thread count but now...I am really having fun with it. Who knows? I may have to dig those other things out of the pile and give them another try.
I had the random number thingy choose someone to receive one of my Valentine mug mats and that person is
Mary at Stitches and More.
I loved reading all your comments and appreciate your visits and encouragement. I hope you are all enjoying a great start to the week.

Hooray for you Myra! I'm not sure what count osnaburg is but I love stitching on it. I really prefer the smaller linen. I'm going to have to try some ornaments on it : )
It looks good. Forty count? I can't even imagine stitching on that my eyes could not handle it.
It looks so good! It does take a bit to get used to the tiny threads! Recently I've been stitching with one thread on 36 ct and started something new yesterday on 32 ct with 2 strands. It feels like stitching on burlap with rug yarn! LOL
I see that I won one of your beautiful heart mug mats. I'm thrilled! Thanks so much!
Yeah Myra! I have some 40ct in my stash and one of these days I'll give it a try. I love this little piece - those scissors are too cute.
You are doing a great job on the 40ct. So pretty!
Woo Hoo!!!! I knew you could do it!!! It looks beautiful, Myra. I'm starting mine tomorrow!!!!
Linda
That is a really pretty piece...as are all of her designs. So happy you are enjoying the 40ct!
happy stitching...
Told ya!!! Looks great Myra! Go YOU!!! Hope to see you in a week and a half!!!!!
I'm so happy it's working for you Myra! The same thing happened to me - the first 30 minutes or so were awful but then it just got easier as my eyes got more accustomed to it.
Oh it is sooooo cute..I am waiting for this chart to arrive! Know what you mean about 40 count, but I am beginning to like it!

That sampler looks great on 40ct linen! Glad that you are enjoying stitching on 40ct now! I really love to stitch on 36 or 40ct!
Hugs,
I TOLD. You to go for it!!!! Yippppeee!!!!, and, I LOVE this design!!!!
Great progress and it's great to hear that you're liking the 40 count!
Good for you! I haven't tried 40ct yet, too scary! lol
Congrats to Mary :)
Congrats on the 40 count! Great start.
Not sure I could handle 40ct, but yours looks wonderful!!
Can't wait to get that pattern booklet.

I experienced what you went thru stitching on 40ct. Congrats! Love your Valentine Sampler - its so pretty.
love Annette
That's such a lovely design and congratulations to you on cracking the 40ct linen. Glad you are enjoying it.

it is looking so beautiful..i love it x
Yeay!! You go girl on the 40 ct! I think it's a cinch once your eyes get used to it. It looks great, too. I've put aside the Word Play pillows for a week or two and seeing your WTN&T WIP has me itching to get another WTN&T piece out! Nice progress.
Great job, Myra!! I do enjoy 40 count, but admit that sometimes it is hard to get going ~ and, I need really good light!
Congrats to Mary ~ I'm sure she'll love it!
YAY!! I'm so glad you're enjoying it, Myra. I tried it for the first time last year when trying to make my little pillows small enough to fit in my bowl and just got hooked! Now I do many of my ornaments on it, too. I find that I stitch faster because you don't have to worry about twisted threads since you're just using one!
Congratulations to Mary :)
Your sampler is looking wonderful, Myra.
Great job on the 40ct! I enjoy stitching on that and silk gauze but definitely need my light and magnifier.
I'm looking forward to seeing your finished sampler.....all delicate and finely stitched....by YOU!
Congratulations to Mary~ Your treats are always special
ooOoo! Love it!
I'm feeling light-headed and have sweaty palms just at the thought of 40-count Myra! It's a very pretty piece and I love the colours, looking forward to seeing the final finish xxx
Very nice beginning - and great that you're enjoying it! I find some brands of 40ct more difficult than others.
ooooo that is sooo pretty and well done on the forty count ... I have to work mine in good light :) can't wait to see more of it and your other projects too and congratulations to mary :) love mouse xxxxx
Very cool. I am waiting on my pattern and fabric so I can start.
I'm really impressed...Congrats on sticking with this beauty and pushing past the challenge. :)
This is a great project and will look wonderful when finished. I love stitching on 40ct fabric but I have to use a magnifier. I really love the result, everything looks so delicate when stitched on 40ct.
