Welcome! Today is my day on the pincushion blog hop hosted by Madame Samm and our head cheerleader Kristen. I would like to say a big THANK YOU to these wonderful ladies for their organization and encouragement.
When I sat down to choose fabrics for my pincushion there were so many possibilities I just couldn't decide. I knew what I wanted to make but I was having a tough time choosing just one color combination. So as things usually go I decided to make more than one. I thought why not have a pincushion for every season?
Here is Miss Robin Redbreast singing about Spring. She is decked out in 30's repro's as those fabrics just say spring to me.
Next up is Mr. Bluebird. As you can see he is out tending the tomato plants in his garden hoping to enjoy some of that late summer bounty.
Mrs. Crow joins the party in her formal mourning attire. Do you suppose she is sad about the passing of Summer?
And last but certainly not least is Mr. Christmas Cardinal himself. Ready to provide that splash of much needed color amidst all the greys of winter.
The pattern I used for these lovely birds is by Joel Dewberry and can be found in his book Sewn Spaces. You can find a tutorial online for them over at DIY Dish. :o)
Since I am fairly certain these will become gifts in the near future, I just had to make matching ort containers to fly along with them. Which one do you like best?
Thank you for your visit. I hope you enjoyed seeing my creations and perhaps found a new pincushion to add to your arsenal.
Don't forget to visit the other ladies on the hop who are sharing my day with me.
