Final 2013 Finishes

I wanted to pop back in before 2014 and share my last two finishes of the year.   I spent some time finishing today and here are the results:

"Mary's Sampler" finished as a pillow.  I kept this simple and just added brown chenille trim.

"Peace" by Blackbird Designs -- in the 2013 JCS Ornament Issue
I decided to frame this one instead of making it into an ornament.  This way I can display it all year.

I just love that big ole dove!

I spent the afternoon sorting and organizing my charts.  They were such a mess.  I have several things that need to be relocated so look for some chart giveaways soon.   I also kitted up my New Year's start for 2014 - Lone Elm Lane's "Snow Angel".

Do you start a new project for the new year?  I would love to hear what you are going to be stitching.

Oh Myra- both of these are beautiful! I've been thinking of finishing some pieces next year as pillows. And I had the same thought when I saw that BBD Christmas piece. It is too pretty to just have out at Christmas. Take care!

What a beautiful way to end the year, Myra! The chenille trim is a perfect finish for Mary's Sampler and I love the fact that you framed "Peace"--really beautiful!

I can't wait to see your start on "Snow Angel"--that piece is so "you!"

I'm in between projects now--not sure what to pick up next. Hope I can narrow it down soon :)

Wishing you all the best in 2014, my friend!

As you know, I will be starting Snow Angel for the new year as well : ) I do love that BBD piece & have it in my batch of kitted projects. I agree that it will be nice to display it all year round rather than make it as an ornament. I wish you a very Happy New Year!

Beautiful stitches and finishes! The "Snow Angel" is one of my favorites! I haven't purchased the pattern yet though... as I have so many in stash that I should stitch first... looking forward to seeing your progress on it!

Your Peace finish is just lovely. I might have to think about stitching that one...not sure why I didn't notice it in the ornament issue.

My New Year's start this year is a piece to memorialize my cat that died in June...It's called "Cat's Eyes" by Mystic Stitch. It looks just like my Shadow.

I wasn't sure about turning Mary's Sampler into a pillow but now I think you may have changed my mind! It looks great! So does Peace. I don't know what Snow Angel looks like so I'll be back!

Very pretty finishes!
I start a project every New Years Day and have had pretty good success in finishing them ;) This year I plan on Teresa Wentzler's Egyptian Sampler (which has been on my list forever, so it'll be good to get some stitches in).

Beautiful finishes. Love the chenille trim. Not sure what to start, so probably won't be anything new. Need to get organising myself.

Myra, I love that you made the Paulette Stewart into a pillow. What a great idea!!! Keeping the Peace design out all year long is just perfect. Wishing you all the best in 2014.

Both of your finishes are so pretty! The Mary sampler looks wonderful as a pillow. I just put mine in an old frame I had but I love the pillow idea.

Wonderful finishes Myra! I really like the simple chenille trim. I've just recently been using chenille and am enjoying it's effects! The BBD Peace Dove is beautiful and great that you can display it year round. This will be my third year of starting a new sampler in the new year so I'm looking forward to that plus finishing two WIP's! Happy New Year!!

Two great last finishes in the old year. I love the way you finished them, Peace looks really great in its frame. And the pillow you turned Mary into is so beautiful, quite simple but very impressive.

I always start a lot of things in January, in the last years I was doing the Crazy Challenges, this year will be my year of BAPs and I'll start 10 big projects throughout January. And maybe February. I'm looking forward to seeing your New Year's start.
